Subversive Festival, Zagreb 3-16 May

“Spaces of emancipation, micropolitics and rebellions” is the theme of this year’s film and theoretical programme of Subversive Film Festival taking place in Zagreb from 3rd to 16th May.

There will be over 120 participants from all corners of the world, such as Indian philosopher and eco-feminist Vandana Shiva, Australian professor of economy Steve Keen, executive director of Greenpeace Kumi Naidoo, as well as Lisa Vogel, Richard Seymour, Ska Keller, Wang Hui and many others.

In addition to the fantastic collection of feature, short and documentary films all competing for the prestigious Wild Dreamer award, there will be a multitude of additional programmes such as Film essay, Film philosophy, homage to the Russian genius Aleksej German and master classes led by Josua Oppenheimer, Radovan Tadic and Boris Malagurski.

Film screening will be taking place in Europa, Tuskanac, Gric and KIC movie theatres, as well as at the Academy of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Economy, the faculty of Philosophy and other faculties at the University of Zagreb.
