The climate of Lesvos
The climate of Lesvos is soft and temperate. The winter is mild and snowfall is rare. The warm period on the island starts in April and lasts until October. The largest amount of rainfall, on a yearly average, is recorded in December and the least in July. Lesvos has a Mediterranean climate with generally warm winters and it is known for its exceptionally fine Halcyon days, a period of warm summer-like light in the heart of winter, which has continued right up to the present, with the warm days of January and February. It is true, that there is more sunshine in Lesvos than any other place in Greece and, perhaps, in the whole Mediterranean.
